The event recognized women who were contributing to the society in different walks of life. The mega event created a great opportunity for women, to meet, connect, and grow together.

BENGALURU (MT NEWS): Rock legends Def Leppard rocked Bengaluru with their hit numbers at NICE Grounds. A bit of rain before the concert did not deter the enthusiastic crowd.  The huge crowd went hysterical watching the legends on the stage. 

Def Leppard formed in 1977 in Sheffield, England, consists of Rick Allen (Drums), Joe Elliott (Lead Vocals), Phil Collen (Guitarist), Vivian Campbell (Guitarist), Rick Savage (Bassist).

The British Band delivered their highly popular hits, Let’s Get Rocked, Animal, Pour Some Sugar on me, Hysteria, Armageddon it, Two Steps Behind, Love Bites, Promises, Photograph, White Lightning, the electrifying instrumental Switch 625 from their album High ‘n’ Dry along with other hits, the high energy, electrifying concert had the audience singing along with the band.

Indian Environmentalist, Author, Educationist, Motivational Speaker, Rock music enthusiast and a die-hard fan of Def Leppard, U S Moinuddin, who was present at the concert said, “I have been obsessively listening to their songs since I was a teen, I waited for years, to see them live, it felt amazing to see the legends perform in Bengaluru. The bands incredible journey is inspiring, from Rick Allen’s accident to their sold-out concerts across the continents is spectacular. Truly, a magnificent band.”

Lead vocalist of Indus Creed, one of India’s most influential rock bands Uday Benegal said, “We had a really fun time playing to a really fun crowd." Two days earlier Indus Creed had opened for Def Leppard’s concert in Mumbai at Jio World Garden.

Rakesh Sharma, an architect who was present at the concert said, “What an amazing concert, highly energetic, no doubt Def Leppard is one of the greatest bands in the history of Rock Music.”

The high adrenaline, mind-blowing concert in Bengaluru on the 29^th of March 2026 was one performance the rock fans will never forget.

The event started after the dignitaries lit the clay cauldron with a flaming torch. The audience were a witness to many acrobatic skills displayed by the school students. Formation of Pyramids, Fire breathing, display of Karate skills that included breaking of Clay tiles from their foreheads. Spectacular mast past and exercises with colourful costumes mesmerized the audience. The students also performed with lezimes, hoops and jingles, and entertained the audience with a host of events.

Author, Environmentalist and Founder Secretary of Magnifique Group of Educational institutions U.S. Moinuddin said in his speech, “When students play sports they learn team work. They also learn to overcome shyness, develop confidence and leadership skills. I believe that, paper marks alone do not make students successful. Along with the syllabus of the schools, if students are encouraged to learn life skills that include developing healthy relationships with people, goal setting, effective communication skills and their ability to convert their productive ideas into action, they can become successful in their lives.”

BANGALORE: There are some people in our environment who exhibit an aura of energy and happiness. They attract other people like a magnet with their lively attitude towards life. One such lady who exhibits this rare aura is Geeta Shankar, founder of Omashram, an old age home in Bilekahalli near Bannerghetta Road in Bangalore.

“Geeta Shankar is a mother, sister, daughter and a friend to the inmates of the old age home,” says US Moinuddin, a well known Author, Environmentalist and Educationist who had recently visited Omashram and met some of the elderly men and women.

Every inmate of Omashram had a sad story to tell. But, Geeta Shankar’s love and concern for her ‘elderly children’ had filled their empty lives with a desire to live and enjoy their lives laughing, smiling and joking.

There is an air of liveliness when Geeta energetically walks from one room to another in the old age home. She entertains her ‘elderly children’ with her words. They laugh, joke, share their emotions and once again laugh heartily.

Omashram is a home to over 50 inmates in the age group of 55 to 95 years, all taken care of in the best possible manner.

 Bangalore (Sunday) 2-12-2012: A guddali pooja (Ground Breaking Ceremony) was organized for the construction and development of a park in Umar Bagh Layout, in South Bangalore under the aegis of Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka R.Ashok.  After the ceremony R.Ashok promised to reconstruct the collapsed compound wall of Jamia Masjid Campus,  Ilyasnagar, which also houses a Government Urdu school and an ITI.  BBMP Corporator of Banashankari ward 180, Basavaraj who is actively involved in the developments in Umar Bagh and parts of Ilyasnagar layout said, “It is a very satisfying feeling when every nook and corner of my ward develops, the residents of the areas have been very cooperative. With the support and participation of the residents, our city can be made more beautiful.”

Author, Educationist and Environmentalist US Moinuddin who had participated in the ceremony said, “We have seen tremendous developments in Umar Bagh and Ilyasnagar during the term of AH Basavaraj as the corporator. The residents of these areas are very content and happy.  We require more of such politicians who exhibit enthusiasm to serve the public.” Estimates were made by the engineers of the BBMP to concrete the open area of the Mosque campus and also construct a permanent stage for the Urdu school.

Bangalore: Like every year this year too Magnifest 2012 in Magnifique English School was a visual treat. The students enthralled the visitors with their artistic creativity; the Ikebana flower arrangements caught the attention of every eye. Fashion show by the students of Nursery section and Innovative designs made with the use of colours by the Primary and High School students in Rangoli made the onlookers gasp in admiration.

  The participants in the singing event were named Magnifique Idols; they enthralled the audience with popular Hindi and Kannada hits. The Magnifique laughter challenge which involved mimicry, mono acting and jokes kept the audience asking for more.

The event that really caught everybody’s attention was the Scary House. “People love to get scared and that is what we did, the sound effects, the scary costumes and the environment created made people to scream and run out of the room.” said Zahida, the English teacher who directed the concept of Scary House.

 US Moinuddin, a civil engineer from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, who followed his passion and became an Author, Educationist, Motivational Speaker and Environmentalist, is considered as the 'Guru of Motivation' for his constantly encouraging habit and also as a man with multiple talents. But when people call him talented he smiles and says, “Talent is nothing but hard work that has taken place over the years.”  US Moinuddin used to exhibit thoughts that were much matured for a child of his age during his childhood.  In his college days he was associated with a human rights organization, during this time he developed a keen interest in learning about the problems people faced during their day- to-day life, at the same time he had a strong obsession towards trees and plants. From that time he began planting saplings in Bangalore South.   In 2001 he established Magnifique English School in Minhajnagar, JHBCS Layout to provide value based education to the students of the area and surrounding areas, and subsequently in 2005 he established Magnifique Public School on Kanakapura Main Road, opposite to Art of Living.  He even established Dreams foundation to train people to achieve successful results in life. Recently, Moinuddin received the best school management award for the year 2011-12.

PHANTOM THE GHOST WHO WALKS

As the days passed US Moinuddin began to feel that his thoughts should reach people and he wrote his first book Dreams, Action and Success, this book became an instant success and thousands of copies were sold. Dreams, Action and Success, continue to inspire the young and the old.  Subsequently, he wrote another book Great Thoughts which became very popular. These books are also getting translated in other languages. At present he is also working on his new book Revelations from a Cave which is nearing completion. Book lovers are waiting for this book with lots of curiosity.  US Moinuddin says, “When I was a child my father Hazrat N. Syed Umar, introduced me to the world of comics; reading Phantom and Tarzan comics became an obsession. This helped me to develop my imagination, writing skills and a love for Trees and Jungles developed.” Out of his sheer passion for nature he has even created a forest in the Magnifique Public School campus which consists of a pond surrounded by huge bamboo trees, Jamoon, Matti and other varieties of trees. This vegetation is also attracting a large variety of birds. He has planted over 22,000 saplings in the Magnifique campus and the surrounding areas of Kanakapura Road, Kumaraswamy layout, JP Nagar and Banashankari.

TARZAN THE LORD OF THE JUNGLE

From many years US Moinuddin has conducted environment awareness programmes, distributed free saplings across many venues and he himself has planted thousands of saplings. He noticed that the temperature across the globe is rising and the water table in many regions is depleting, he started a movement One Tree by One Person which is attracting thousands of people every day. He meets people in offices, students in schools and colleges, housewives encouraging them to support his movement. His common message is, “If every Indian plant a sapling each we shall have 122 crore trees in addition to the ones those exist. If people across the world plant a sapling each we can have over 700 crore trees in addition to the ones that already exist.”This movement is also inspiring people in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Thailand

When there is a shortage of space in a city like Bangalore, how does one plant so many trees, to which Moinuddin says, “Where there is more space you can plant Rain trees, Matti, Gulmohar and other big trees, where there is less space you can plant Silver Oak, Honge and other small and medium size trees.” In 2002 he had even established a local newspaper called Magnifique Times; now this is soon going to get relaunched as an online newspaper.

HAZRAT N.SYED UMAR DEAD: A LOSS TO HUMANITY

                                               

HAZRAT N. SYED UMAR, A SAINT WHO DEDICATED HIS LIFE FOR THE PEOPLE

BANGALORE: The death of Hazrat N.Syed Umar on 1-1-2012(Sunday) is a serious loss to humanity. He was a true example of universal love and compassion. Many refer to him as a saint and a messiah of the poor. He was the founder of many residential layouts such as Umar Bagh Layout, Ilyasnagar, Fayazabad, Minhajnagar, JHBCS Layout, Sharada Nagar to name a few. He was also the founder of Al-Khateeb Teachers Training College and Polytechnic, President of Magnifique Group of Educational Institutions, Government schools, President of Anjuman-E-Islamia Banashankari and many mosques, and other religious and charitable institutions. 

He worked as the under secretary to the government in Vidhana Soudha but his real call was to serve the people. He voluntarily took retirement from his government service and served people till his last breath.

His mission was not to make money but to provide housing to the needy and uplift the economic conditions of the poor. “We have lost a saint, only one person like Umar Sab is born in a generation,” cried Ramchandra a vegetable vendor. “I was penniless and owning a house was a distant dream, Umar sab gave me a site for only Rs 3,000 and I took over ten years to pay the amount for which he never asked.” Police constable Venkatappa was inconsolable. Thousands of  people participated in the funeral prayers held in the Anjuman-E-Islamia Idgah near Banashankari and he was laid to rest in the Muslim burial ground, Banashankari.

FIRDOSE FATHIMA PERFORMS IN MAGNIFIQUE PUBLIC SCHOOL

 Bangalore: It was a fantastic concert by a ten year old visually impaired child Firdose Fathima in the Magnifique Public School campus. Firdose played music on her Keyboard like a seasoned professional.  . Listening to her play Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” Boney M’s “Rasputin” along with Hindi classics such as “Mera Juta Hai Japani” and other hits was a treat to the audience. She also played nursery rhymes to entertain the nursery kids of the school. Daughter of cricket player Syed Rashid Hussein, Firdose has performed in front of the Indian and Pakistan national cricket teams too. Author, Educationist and Environmentalist US Moinuddin who was present during the performance said, “Firdose is a role model to the thousands of people who either blame their destiny, ill-health or circumstances for not doing things in life. If a person wants to follow their passion or want to achieve incredible feats in life, they can do it irrespective of the deterrents that crop up during the journey.”

Firdose’s mother Yasmeen has dedicated her life for her daughter, encouraging her in every possible way. “Firdose is incredible in grasping things, you teach her once and she does it.” Yasmeen said. This child prodigy has a liking for painting, tree planting and singing too. When nature takes one thing from one’s life it also provides something in abundance.

Bangalore:  Students of Magnifique English School held a rally in support of ‘One Tree by One Person’ on the World Environment Day on June 5. The students screaming ‘One Tree by One Person’ marched across the roads and streets of Minhajnagar, JHBCS Layout and the surrounding localities attracting the attention of a large number of people.

Environmentalist US Moinuddin who had participated in the rally said, “Every day the support for the movement 'One Tree by One Person' is growing, students across many schools and colleges are voluntarily supporting the cause. Thousands of people in many cities have taken a pledge to support the movement by planting trees.”

    At the end of the rally some students also interacted with the public, informing them about the importance of trees for our survival and requested them to support the movement for which many readily accepted.

‘ONE TREE BY ONE PERSON’ ATTRACTING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE

            Bangalore: One Tree by One Person, a revolutionary movement to make India greener was introduced by environmentalist US Moinuddin almost a decade ago. The agenda of this movement is to encourage tree planting and educate the masses about the role of trees in our ecosystem. 

  Everybody loves trees, but most of them do not make an effort to plant them as they get engrossed in their day-to-day activities. To make tree planting more realistic and easier, US Moinuddin began to promote the idea of One Tree by One person, according to which a person is required to plant at least one sapling during their lifetime and take care of it. If the population of Bangalore is 85 lakhs and every resident takes an initiative of planting one sapling, then the city will have 85 lakh trees in addition to the trees that already exist. If every Indian takes an initiative of planting a sapling, then there would be 122 crore trees. This movement is attracting people of all age groups and thousands of people across schools, colleges, offices, factory workers and housewives have already taken a pledge to plant trees and make our environment healthy and beautiful. US Moinuddin has been constantly meeting people and encouraging them to support this campaign where one can witness a Greener India and a Greener Earth. To create awareness about the cause US Moinuddin had directed a drama that took place on trees during the 2011, world environment day.

Bangalore: It was three days of relaxation and training for the managers and marketing executives of Prism Books Private Limited in an ambience where one can easily blend with nature.  The training programme at the lush green Fireflies Ashram in Dinnepalya near Kanankapura Road was a perfect getaway for the trainees, away from the maddening traffic of Bangalore.

              Author, Educationist, Motivational Speaker and Environmentalist US Moinuddin who was invited to train the participants on ‘effective public speaking’ said, “If you want to be a public speaker you should look for opportunities to come on the stage and talk. If you can talk in front of five people you can easily talk in front of fifty thousand people.” Head HR and Admin of Prism Softech, Raghu Rao, trained the participants towards team building and initiating change. Some of the participants had come all the way from Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.  

 MD of Prism, Pranesh.S said, “We had planned the programme in such a manner that the participants are able to de-stress as well as improve their marketing skills in an effective manner.”  General Manager Marketing, Prism, K.Gopal Krishna  said, “ We have witnessed that the efficiency of the staff members increases after the training programmes, hence we have been very particular that often such programmes are conducted for our staff.” Vice-president Operations, Mahesh.N,  Directors of Prism Ravi.S and Sandhya Pranesh,  were also present in the event.

SIXTY SAPLINGS PLANTED BY BIBI FATHIMA ITI ON JP NAGAR RING ROAD

    Bangalore: Bibi Fathima ITI, Ilyasnagar conducted a tree planting event in which over sixty saplings were planted on the J.P.Nagar Ring road along with tree guards. Gulmohar, Rain Trees, Bamboos, Honge, Jacaranda and other varieties of saplings were got from BBMP forest division.  “We had selected seven feet saplings as we found that they would sustain better under tough conditions,” said Mehaboob Hawaldar the president of Bibi Fathima Group of Educational Institutions.

                     Over the years this institution has promoted the cause of tree planting in Bangalore south. The students are trained and motivated by the staff and the management to participate in events that would help in making the environment clean and green.

Examination Fever

Being a teacher teaching some of the key subjects in a private school, I am very well aware of the concept of examination fever.  Most of the students face this problem. Not only the not-so-brilliant students but also many brilliant students  face it because of the pressure they get from internal and external sources to score the highest marks.

Now-a-days even toddlers are suffering from this problem. The parents are pressurizing the students to aim at some imaginary, unrealistic  and unreasonable goal. Due to the constant pressure to excel in all the class tests, monthly tests, and semesters the children are now prone to this examination fever.

Just like any other mental distress , this is also a kind of mental disease. It seems to be just a phrase but it is a serious problem in some severe cases. The constant pressure to excel and to meet their unrealistic aims the students try to put in more and more efforts but end up performing very less than what they would have otherwise performed. Some children will work hard day-in and day-out and do not take care of their health by not following proper diet. This leads to unhealthy body with ever more unhealthy mind which may not function the way it should. As a result, their performance is hampered.

Then what ? This is not the end! Then there is a twist in the story, Then is the saga of  failures. This is then dragged all the life specially if the child has appeared for the SSLC examination. The parents and teachers are somehow never satisfied. Even to a child who scored 98 in Maths, they would say “you could have got 100 very easily“. Come-on, take a break, the child has given the best shot and he has made it. Similarly just-pass children are treated as the failures of future. “He will not make big in life”, a  teacher would just vaguely say . Not to forget to mention about the failed children, it is like the sky has fallen on their puny little heads and that it is so heavy that they cannot lift their head up again. Everyone treats them like criminals who have done the most offensive thing in the world. The world will term them to be the hopeless cases with meager chances to make it in this world.

 

Just like success stories these stories of failures are told to the students again and again who are now aware how the world would treat them if they did not perform well. All these knowledge and information acquired by the students well-in-advance is an enroute to examination fever.

How to overcome this?

Very simple methods to overcome examination fever 

1) Set realistic aims as per your ability and capacity.

2) Be regular to school and be attentive in class.

3) Study regularly and not just a day or a month before examination

4) Come up with more and more questions to understand the subject.

5) Write and practice.

6) Take the exams easily i.e just give your best shot and do not worry  

    about the result because if you follow 1 to 5, there is no chance of   

    getting less marks

7)Eat nutritious meals and sleep well because healthy body and sound mind is the key of success.

8) Most important be happy and cheerful and enjoy your student hood to the  fullest.
